AAUW Las Cruces hosts Monthly Meetings with varying programs of interest to all ages! Each program is carefully planned and always quite interesting.
ALL are welcome, regardless of AAUW membership status.
Meetings are held the second Saturday, September through June at the DACC Workforce Center, 2345 Nevada Ave. The program begins at 10:00 am preceded by a “social time” from 9:30 – 10:00 am.
Please mark your calendars now so that you will be able to attend our General Meetings, which are held on the second Saturday of the month at the DACC Workforce Center. We start with socializing from 9:30 am – 10:00 am. During this time, you can visit with all members, catch up with returning members, and introduce yourself to newcomers. Our program starts at 10:00 am. We will introduce our featured presenter, who will speak for 30 – 40 minutes.

Christopher Woods will be our speaker on January 11. He serves as the ARAO (Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression) Portal Coordinator at the New Mexico Public Education Department. Mr. Woods earned a BA in Psychology and an MS in Family and Consumer Sciences from New Mexico State University.
Before joining the Public Education Department, he worked at the NM Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. He also has experience as a psychologist at the Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility, a part of the NM Department of Corrections.
During his talk, he will discuss government employment, his current role, the functions of the department and its current initiatives.
