AAUW Las Cruces hosts Monthly Meetings with varying programs of interest to all ages! Each program is carefully planned and always quite interesting.
ALL are welcome, regardless of AAUW membership status.
Meetings are held the second Saturday, September through June at the DACC Workforce Center, 2345 Nevada Ave. The program begins at 10:00 am preceded by a “social time” from 9:30 – 10:00 am.
Please mark your calendars now so that you will be able to attend our General Meetings, which are held on the second Saturday of the month at the DACC Workforce Center. We start with socializing from 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. During this time, you can visit with all members, catch up with returning members, and introduce yourself to newcomers. Our program starts at 10:00 a.m. We will introduce our featured presenter, who will speak for 30 – 40 minutes.
Our speaker for November is Denise Chávez. Denise is a Fronteriza writer, bookseller, and activist for sentient life. She and her husband, Daniel Zolinsky, own Casa Camino Real Bookstore. Her latest novel is Street Of Too Many Stories. At the meeting, you will have the opportunity to purchase her books which will be on display. You can read more about Denise in the November OMV.
October meeting is: Saturday, November 8th at 10:00 a.m., with “social time” starting at 9:30 a.m. like always. Same place as always, too, on Nevada Ave.!
There is another meeting starting at noon (12:00 pm). We must be out of the room by 11:30 am.
Reminder: Our Holiday Luncheon is December 13th at the DACC Workforce Center. The cost is $22. We will have a signup sheet. You can pay with cash, check (to AAUW with “luncheon” in the memo) or credit card.
