AAUW LC in a Nutshell

Who:  Membership is open to individuals holding a degree (associate or beyond) from an accredited college/university. There are no barriers based on gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, or class.

What:  Nationally, state & locally: our mission is to “advance gender equity for women & girls through research, education, and advocacy”. Through our public policy program, lobbying & grassroots efforts promote policies that breakthrough educational & economic barriers for women. Visit the AAUW Public Policy page for more information.

When:  Monthly meetings with interesting programs are held on the 2nd Saturday, 9:30 am – 11:30 am, September-May. The June Social luncheon will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2023.

Our major outreach program, GIRLS CAN!, usually replaces our March meeting.

How:  Communication tools include this website lascruces-nm.aauw.net, membership directory, and information: Yearbook, and monthly newsletter: Organ Mountain Views, better known as the OMV.   The OMV Reminders & Special Notices are delivered via email.  OMVs are always available here under the tab above: Newsletters.

AAUW Las Cruces, established in 1923, is the oldest and largest branch in New Mexico, with over 90 members. We have been moving women forward for the past 100 years!!
