AAUW LC in a Nutshell

Who:  Membership is open to individuals holding a degree (associates or beyond) from an accredited college/university. There are no barriers on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or class.  AAUW is open to anyone holding an associate (or equivalent, such as RN), bachelor’s, or higher degree from an accredited college or university.

What:  Nationally, state & locally: our mission is to “advance gender equity for women & girls through research, education, and advocacy”. Through our public policy program, lobbying & grassroots efforts promote policies that breakthrough educational & economic barriers for women. When:  Monthly meetings are held Saturday mornings 9:30 am – 11:30 am, September-May. The June General Meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, from 5 – 7 PM. Please visit our AAUW Las Cruces Meetings page on our website for specifics on location & program topics. Our major outreach program GIRLS CAN! replaces our March meeting.

How:  Communication tools include our website lascruces-nm.aauw.net, membership Yearbook and monthly newsletter, Organ Mountain Views, better known as the OMV.   The OMV and Reminders & Special Notices are delivered via email.  OMVs are also always available on our website.

AAUW Las Cruces, established in 1923, is the oldest and largest branch in New Mexico with 125 members. We have been moving women forward for the past 96 years!!
