AAUW LC in a Nutshell

Who:  Membership is open to individuals holding a degree (associates or beyond) from an accredited college/university. There are no barriers on the basis of: gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or class.

What:  Nationally, state & locally: our mission is to advance equality for women & girls through advocacy, education, research & philanthropy. Through our public policy program, lobbying & grassroots efforts promote policies that break through educational & economic barriers for women. Visit the AAUW NM Public Policy page for examples.

When:  Monthly meetings are held Saturday mornings 9:30am – 11:30, September-April. May & June meetings are Tuesday evenings 6-8 pm. Please visit our AAUW Las Cruces Meetings page on our website for specifics on location & program topics. Our major outreach program GIRLS CAN! replaces our March meeting.

How:  Communication tools include our website lascruces-nm.aauw.net, membership yearbook and monthly newsletter, Organ Mountain Views, better known as the OMV.   The OMV and Reminders & Special Notices are delivered via email.  OMVs are also always available on our website.
